Flexibility Explained
There are many great books about flexibility training for martial artists and I will not go into details. It's just too much to cover.
Therefore I will try to be as brief as possible, while explaining the idea behind stretching.
Imagine that flexibility is defined as your body's ability to move your limbs in certain direction and for full range of motion.
All while maintaining your balance, strenght and speed behind each motion.
Think about it.
If you cannot perform certain technique at full range of motion - your ability to perform it really well is very limited.
You will not have the reach or power or balance - therefore your techique will be useless.
So if your martial arts instructor really does not want to help you to increase your flexibility, find time yourself at home and stretch properly.
You will see many great results.
