Syracuse Martial Arts Testimonials

Syracuse Martial Arts Testimonials - See what our students say about our wing chun and self defense classes in Syracuse area.

Brett,

I really enjoyed my first class from Syracuse Martial Arts on Wing Chun style and I can’t wait for the next class. I mention it to everyone I talk with and there isn’t anyone to whom I would not recommend your class!

It’s great and I can tell you really enjoy teaching it.

As I mentioned, when I was younger I studied Chinese Kenpo Karate from the time I was seven until I was fourteen. My father found a dojo for me as a birthday gift as he knew how much I enjoyed Bruce Lee’s work.

I remember always telling my Si-fu during tests when he would ask me why I am studying martial arts, I’d tell him that it was Bruce Lee that inspired me.

So I am thirty-four now and in the twenty years of not practicing martial arts I’ve always regretted its absence just a little.

For one, I have been living the cerebral life style of a graduate student who studies what can be a very abstract subject, philosophy.

So it’s great to get a chance to balance my mind with my body and I think the spiritual and philosophical aspects of Wing Chun add a special appeal for me (and to the kid in me who was so inspired by Bruce).

Secondly, reading about the scientific principles behind the movements of Wing Chun is incomparable to having an instructor such as you to explain the principles while guiding us and explaining their nuances.

I really enjoy practicing the portion of the small idea form (Siu Nim Tao) that you taught us last.

There’s a certain calmness of mind I get from focusing on the movements when I practice at home; and I have to say that something clicked in my head during class when you demonstrated their application in a self-defense situation.

Again, I can’t wait to learn more in the next class!

See you soon,

Shoni Rancher

Hi Brett I enjoyed the first training session. I liked the realistic scenarios given, because on the street everything happens in a second with almost no time to react.

You teach how to react to each scenario given. All the strikes made sense and everything was explained so I understand how and why the strikes are the way they are.

The class was challenging, insightful and fun and I can't wait to do it again. I would deffinetally recommend this class to anyone looking to learn any martial arts.
